Primary 1 (Large)

Our primary phase offers a vibrant and caring environment, focused on ensuring that children have the best possible start to their education.

We work in partnership with parents and carers and welcome your involvement with the school; there are frequent informal opportunities, such as the Reading and Maths Cafés, for you to come into school and to work alongside your child.  Twice yearly consultation meetings provide a more formal opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with his/her teacher.

The accommodation includes seven classrooms, a hall, well-resourced library, and a small modular building and we also have use of the adjacent Children’s Centre kitchen (for the teaching of food technology).  Outside, children have access to a rich environment in which to exercise, learn and relax.  Features include a large playing field, trim trail, willow tunnel, tyre park, raised beds and a pond.

There are seven classes: we are a single form entry school.  The admission number is 25 for the reception class, a number which is small enough to enable us to focus on the individual child, but provides plenty of opportunities to make friends and develop social skills. Children are mainly taught by their class teacher but will also be taught by specialist teachers from the secondary phase, current subjects taught by specialist teachers include DT, French, Music and Maths.

Being part of an all-through school makes the move from the primary to the secondary phase is very straightforward.  All pupils in year 6 automatically have a place in year 7, the first year of the secondary phase.  Year 5 and 6 pupils make several visits to the secondary site, including induction days in the summer term of year 6.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
