UEA Year 10 Outreach Events: Engineering

The event is on the 11-15th July for students interested in Engineering and is FREE including travel costs to and from the campus.

If you are not familiar with these events, they are 5-days on the UEA campus where students get the opportunity to experience and explore a particular discipline in practical sessions, alongside industry experts as well as UEA students. Attending this event can count as students work experience placement, as well as being logged for the Youth STEMM Award. The event is a fantastic way for students to experience a subject in a way they might not have been exposed to at school level.

Engineering Unlocked

Students will work in groups to tackle real-world Engineering problems posed by people working in industry.

The hands-on week will be jam-packed and further details are still being confirmed but will include:

  • Participants getting into groups to tackle an Engineering problem with the help of experienced engineers
  • Time spent working on solutions to the problems using computer design, testing materials by using advanced tools, 3D printing prototype parts
  • Time for participants to present their solutions to each other and to real engineers.
