Our School
Our School
Dear Students, Parents and Colleagues
At present, Litcham School is overseen by Synergy Trust rather than a traditional governing body.
It is our intention to re-form a full governing body, a key part of this process is to ensure community representation on the governing body, as community perspective and involvement are vital to the school’s development. Once we are able to secure sufficient community interest, we will begin the formal process of re-establishing the governing body.
If you have any concerns you wish to raise to the Trust, please contact: Sarah Rankin, Trust Clerk to Governors srankin@synergymat.co.uk
All correspondence marked as ‘confidential’ will be treated as such.
Would you be interested in considering becoming a Governor at Litcham School? Our Governing Body plays a vital role in shaping the school’s strategic direction, supporting staff, and helping ensure every student receives the best possible education.
Being a Governor is a rewarding way to make a real difference in our school community. You do not need any specific qualifications—just enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Full training and support are provided to help you succeed in the role through easy access to our online learning platform (National College) and through collaboration with Trustees and the Governors in our other fourteen schools.
We also have a Trust handbook to provide guidance and clarity on the responsibilities and expectations and a half termly Chairs of Governors meeting.
The Governing Body membership includes the following roles. Of the nine Governors, a maximum of three can have children at Litcham School so we are welcoming interest from all areas of our community.
X4 Community Governors. X4 vacancies
X2 Parent Governors. X1 vacancy
X2 Staff Governors To be confirmed
Head of School Mr Ben Phillips
Governors are not expected to be experts in education, they are expected to be kind, caring, supportive and challenging members of the community. An interest in any of the following areas would be helpful: Special Educational Needs, supporting disadvantaged children, sports, careers and community engagement.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information about what the role involves, please contact Mr B Phillips, Head of School – bphillips@litchamschool.org.uk
