For Parents & Carers

Behaviour

Visitors universally comment on the school’s positive friendly atmosphere and strong sense of purpose.

We aim to create an environment in which work and study are valued and enjoyed. Good behaviour and relationships, built on mutual respect and trust, are essential for effective teaching and learning to take place. We expect high standards of behaviour and self‐discipline and we will contact parents/carers if we have concerns about their child’s behaviour.

We monitor students closely, celebrating success and rewarding good behaviour. If a students’ behaviour falls short of expectations, we have a graduated system of sanctions, including lunchtime and after‐school detentions, internal exclusion and very exceptionally, fixed‐term external exclusion.

Parents/carers and students are asked to sign a home‐school agreement which sets out our expectations on behaviour.
