Computing

Our aim is to teach Computing as a specially designed curriculum, delivered both as a standalone subject and integrated across other areas of learning.

We begin by developing essential keyboard and mouse skills, which gradually enables children to use a wide range of software, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, multimedia presentation tools, and control and monitoring programs. Children are also introduced to basic programming by using software such as Scratch Jnr. By applying computing in a variety of contexts, students develop key skills in communication, analysis, evaluation and information processing.

A central part of our computing curriculum is e-safety. Through Project Evolve, children learn how to stay safe online, use technology responsibly, and develop the knowledge and skills to make positive, informed choices in the digital world.
